May 2002, SNT (now Norwegian Food Safety Authority) tested dioxins in 15 marine oils. Arctic Omega-3 Seal oil was tested in March 2003. In the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s test, the oil with the lowest dioxin content had a value of 0,45 pg TEQ/g.
Artic Omega-3 seal oil was tested in March 2003 by Wellington Laboratories in Ontario, Canada. This is a certified laboratory. The test was preformed with reference to the specifications for EU, and was approved by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
Artic Omega-3 Seal oil contains dioxins level of only 0,137 pg TEQ/g.
This is over 14 times better than the requirements that the Norwegian Food Safety Authority demand, witch is 2.0pg TEQ/g.
New demands are on their way in Norway and in the EU, and they will create boundaries between the level of dioxins and PCB toxins. These boundaries are expected to be launched at the end of 2004/ beginning of 2005. The demands that EU and the Norwegian government will agree upon will be about 2,0 pg TEQ/g.
Artic Omega-3 Seal oil contains 0,627 pg TEQ/g dioxins and PCB toxins.
This makes Artic Omega-3 Seal oil among the purest seal oil available on the marked.
