Joint pain is a result from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is hard to treat because the medicines (NSAID) can worsen the infection. NIFES (The National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research, Norway) cooperates with Haukeland University hospital to research seal oil as an alternative treatment for joint pain.

Artic Omega-3 Sealoil is used in studies at Haukeland University Hospital (as supplement to a diet).
