The new bottle contains twice as much seal oil as the previous container. It also includes favorable omega-3 fatty acids (EPA, DPA and DHA), in addition to vitamin D and E.
Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil contains many important omega-3 fatty-acids: EPA, DHA and DPA. There are numerous studies that confirm the favorable effects of omega-3. In summation, the long-chained omega-3 fatty-acids that the body does not produce on its own will have a positive effect on the triglyceride level in the blood steam. It can also have a favorable outcome on stabilizing a person’s blood pressure, help lower cholesterol levels and ease joint discomfort etc.
Strengthens the body’s skeletal system.
Vitamin D’s main purpose is to ensure that the right amount of calcium is absorbed into the intestine, and that the body has enough calcium and phosphate in the blood stream. This is important because these two minerals make the skeleton tough and solid, and in addition makes our teeth stronger.
A lack of vitamin D in the diet can result in Rickets disease (for infants) or Osteomalacia disease (for adults). Osteomalacia means “soft bones”. This indicates that the skeletal system becomes weaker, which makes it easier for bone fractures to occur. Children diagnosed with Rickets disease will often have bowed legs. This is because the legs are not strong enough to support the body, and the bones will therefore be forced outwards. Vitamin D insufficiency is also connected to osteoporosis (a disease of the bone).
Sunlight is an important vitamin D source. People that live in the northern parts of the world are often unfortunate when it comes to sunlight. This is because the sun is often placed very low on the horizon and the rays are therefore weak. People living in these regions therefore have to get their vitamin D through their diet.
A lack of vitamin D is, in addition to the above mentioned diagnoses, also seen as an important factor in other conditions such as cancer, multiple scleroses and diabetes. (Source: shdir.no).
You can read more about vitamin D at the Social and Health departments’ website.

Vitamin E is added to Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil in order to serve as an antioxidant, and to avoid that the seal oil goes bad.
