Here you will find the latest analyses results for Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil.
The latest environmental analysis was performed by a well-known laboratory in Germany in the autumn of 2007.
The test indicates that Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil™ show very good results, and that the dioxin values are half of that of the test winner from “Statens Næringsmiddeltilsyn” (SNT), The Norwegian Nutritional Authority. They tested 15 different omega-3 products.
Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil only contained a dioxin level of 0,24 pg TEQ/g.
This is over 8 times better than the standards of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, which for dioxin levels are 2,0 pg TEQ/g.
The environmental experts at SNT’s Scientific Committee have performed an assessment that states the risks involved with the digestion of marine oils, (including seal oil), that contain dioxins and dioxin variants like PCB. The experts have concluded that marine oils that contain dioxin levels and dioxin variants like PCB at about 5,0 pg TE/g will to a very little extent effect the bodily functions, if digested over a course of 20 years, with an intake of 4 ml (8 capsules) per day.
Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil contains a proportion of dioxin levels and dioxin variants like PCB at 0,77 pg TEQ/g. The requirements within EU are 5,0 pg TEQ/g.
According to the existing laws in Norway, the contents of dioxins shall stay below 2 pg TE/g, and that the contents dioxin variants like PCB shall stay below 3 pg TE/g.

This makes Arctic Omega-3 Seal Oil™ among the cleanest and purest seal oils on the market.
According to Norwegian Food Safety Authority the products below contain these levels:
Chicken 1,0 to 2,0 pg. TEQ/g
Margarine 0,7450 pg. TEQ/g
and Butter 0,68 pg. TEQ/g.
FACTS
A group of experts have developed a system that shows the toxic equivalence factor (TEF). This implies that the toxicity of the different substances relate to the toxicity of the most potent dioxin, TCDD (TEF =1). By multiplying the concentration of the different TEFs, you can then sum up the products total TCDD-equivalence (TEQ). By using this method we get a comparison number that can be used for consumption and risk assessment. The value levels of dioxins and dioxin variants like PCB are presented in picograms (pg) WHO-TEQ/g fat weight.
(1 picogram = 0,000000000001g).
